Experienced Leadership for a Safer Montgomery County
"As a candidate for Sheriff, I believe it is my responsibility to explain to voters how I will lead the Sheriff's Office and serve the people of Montgomery County. My priorities focus on proactive policing, supporting our law enforcement, and strengthening the safety of our community."
PROACTIVE COMMUNITY POLICING
• Shift from a reactive model to a proactive policing approach
• Increase visibility of deputies throughout Montgomery County
• Strengthen relationships between deputies and the communities they serve
• Encourage deputies to engage with citizens before problems occur
TACTICAL MEDIC PROGRAM
• Deputies are usually the first responders on scene where someone could have been injured (Accidents, assaults, violent domestic situations)
• Our first priority is to be community caretakers. We always check to see if anyone is injured and if so, request immediate aid
• Training deputies as EMTs or paramedics will allow them to start assisting in rendering aid
• Having several medically trained deputies on each shift could mean the difference between life and death in some circumstances if immediate aid is given
TRAFFIC SAFETY & ROAD ENFORCEMENT
• Establish a dedicated traffic enforcement division
• Address aggressive driving, speeding, and neighborhood traffic complaints
• Increase DUI enforcement to keep impaired drivers off our roads
• Work with neighboring jurisdictions to improve regional traffic safety
STRENGTHENING THE K-9 PROGRAM
• Expand the Sheriff's Office K-9 program
• Utilize K-9 units for narcotics detection, tracking, and officer safety
• Ensure K-9 teams receive the training and resources they need
• Increase the effectiveness of patrol operations through K-9 support
SUPPORTING OUR DEPUTIES
• Ensure deputies have the training, equipment, and leadership they deserve
• Promote professional development and advanced training opportunities
• Maintain a strong culture of professionalism and accountability
• Lead by example and support the men and women who serve our county
TRANSPARENCY & COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
• Establish a public forum for Montgomery County residents to address the Sheriff and department leadership directly
• Provide opportunities for citizens to speak publicly about concerns, suggestions, and community issues
• Encourage open dialogue between the Sheriff's Office and the public it serves
• Improve accountability and transparency within the Sheriff's Office
Tim believes the Sheriff’s Office should remain open and responsive to the community. Similar to the public comment periods held by the Montgomery County Board of Supervisors and School Board, these forums would allow citizens to speak directly with the Sheriff, Chief Deputy, and command staff about issues affecting public safety and law enforcement in their communities.
